Vines love Portugal's southernmost region for the same reason the tourists do - it's never too hot, never too cold, and they can be sure to enjoy more than 3,000 hours of sunshine every year.
If you are holidaying in the Algarve will recognise the the major towns that lend their names to the region’s four wine DOCs: Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa and Tavira and the Algarve has a long heritage as a winemaking region.
Our Wine Experience begins in Silves, a small cultural tour of the city and a first stop for a glass of wine in the phenomenal 8th century castle.
Afterwards we take you to a 300 year old family farm, with a visit to the second oldest vineyard in the region. The owner of the farm will take you on a journey of the wine, the wine making history in the Algarve, the local grape varieties and the estate's vision for wine.
Afterwards, we seat at the table. A gorgeous view under a 2000year old olive tree, with a home made meal where the wine tasting begins.
A unique and remarkable experience, no doubt.
